I used Troubadour's script to write it up
for a room that changed radically depending on
the 8 moon phases awhile back to a good
degree of success.
Depends on your need for parsing speed and
reliable map position.

NOMAP triggers similar to the one I suggested should be very quick. Since they don't contain any wildcards, zMUD can discard lines that don't match without much processing time.

You just put them in at the command line. If you prefer, you can use #TR with #NOMAP as the action -- it produces the identical result.
