Something I can't quite figure out |
First, thanks to those helpful posts that help have helped this cmud nub out in the past..
What I'm trying to accomplish is having a master file(package?) of settings that I use as a default for all my characters(classes) each time I log on to this certain MUD.
I then want, depending which character I'm playing, to overlay additional settings onto the basic settings for that particular class (say I'm logging in my mage). Later, when I switch
to play my warrior, I want to overlay my warrior specific triggers onto the default settings and either disable or remove my mage settings. This seems like it should be simple, but
I've been struggling figuring out the best way to do it. Each different class I play uses a bunch of default settings (triggers, alias, etc.) and then a bunch of settings (triggers, alias, etc.)
that are unique for that particular class.
Any help? |

best way is to make a seperate session for each character and have a shared package for any crossover abilities.
if you insist on using the same session, make a class (folder) for the guild specific abilities and use #T+ and #T- to toggle them on and off. |

I have tried the separate session, but say I add a new highlight (on a PK mud, and new enemies always popping up) and I want that to be stored in the same generic setting file that all my various characters use.. how is that accomplished?

In the package editor, go to File -> New package to make a package to share between your sessions, put all your common scripts in it. Then edit each session, go to the packages tab and add your new shared package to the list of packages for that session.
