How do I combine maps?

I have two very large maps that I would like to combine. Is there a way to cut/paste stuff from map 1 to map 2?

Thanks!

no there isnt... not easily at least... I think one of the GURUs might have made a zMUD plugin that sort of did this, but i could be wrong.

There is a rather convoluted way to do this, you will need the following tools:

Map Conversion Tool - http://forums.zuggsoft.com/index.php?page=4&action=file&file_id=87

Zone Copy Utility - http://forums.zuggsoft.com/index.php?page=4&action=file&file_id=66

First convert both maps that you want to move things around in with the Conversion tool. You want to go from CMUD to ZMUD format.

Then use the Zone Copy Utility to move the zones you want from one to the other.

Reconvert the final map back to CMUD format with the Conversion tool again.

As always make backups of your files just in case things get corrupted in the process.

thank you palek,

Zmud 7.21 doesn't seem to recognize it as a plugin. I also can't seem to get that .exe to install manually. Am I doing something wrong?

When I try to install it through zmuds plugin menu I get "zonecopy is not a valid plugin" and when I move the exe into zmud and execute it I get "component comdl.g32.ocx or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered..."

Both the ZoneCopy and MapConvert utilities run offline, they are not plug-ins.

MapConvert works great but I'm getting the comdl.g32 error for ZoneCopy regardless of where I try to execute it.

Download COMDLG32.OCX from Microsoft. Put it in C:\Windows\System32, and if you are running on 64-bit system, also put it in C:\Windows\SysWOW64.
