Simple question, transferring trigger between computers
|
I actively mud on two different computers and I can't seem to figure out how to transfer my package libraries, ie all of my settings, aliases, and triggers between muds so both computers have the same settings.
I've looked in help files and I'm having a tough time figuring this out. I use windows 7 default settings. Best thing I could figure out (but didn't work) was to goto My docs->MyGames->cmud->transfer mud folder. Is this the quick way? None of my triggers transfer. Thanks. |

Click on the XML tab in your setting, select the entire text, copy it and save it to a text file with the suffix .xml, then upload the file to your other computer (usually by putting it on a memory stick or dvd/cd). You can also send the file to yourself via e-mail.

I don't see an XML tab. Under settings (package editor) and File, I see export xml and import XML. Can I use those? I now see "save package as". I think I tried that in the past and it didn't work. Is it supposed to work?

Yes, you Export XML on the computer with the settings, then import XML on the computer you're trying to transfer them to.

Copying the Cmud folder, as you first suggested, should also work.

If you are only importing specific packages, and the session on the new computer did not previously load the packages, you would have to manually load the packages to let the session know it should be loading them. Other than that, there should be no need to import. If you give a step-by-step description of what you did, we could probably figure out what went wrong.
