Channel capture question |
I'm playing a mud right now that sends chat messages to you a little different than what i'm used to. I can get the first line to capture with no problem but if there area any additional lines they don't make it to the capture window. It's like the mud is sending a carriage return or something at the end of each line of text of that comes through on the channel. My word wrap in preferences is set to three spaces but dosen't work on the mud which is why it seems to me a carriage return is being sent. Here is an example.
Code: |
send bozie This block of text when copied into notepad ++ appears just as it does on screen here, not indented even though I have my word wrap set for 3 spaces.
Comm: [Bozie] This block of text when copied into notepad ++ appears just
as it does on screen here, not indented even though I have my word wrap set
for 3 spaces.
You send to Bozie: This block of text when copied into notepad ++ appears
just as it does on screen here, not indented even though I have my word
wrap set for 3 spaces.

Here is a screenshot showing the three space indent on the command line.

The best i've been able to do is get the very first line:
Comm: [Bozie] This block of text when copied into notepad ++ appears just
to cpture to my chat window.
I ran a few rooms through the script debugger and i'm guessing the <LF><CR> i see after each line recieved is the villan.
My question is, does anyone have any tips that will help me make the whole block of text capture to my chat window? |

Word-wrapping preferences only apply to lines that CMud itself is wrapping. If the game is sending the information already wrapped, CMud will see each line as an individual line.
As for capture, if your game has a wrap-control command that allows you to turn it off or set it to some really large number it's better to use that. If it doesn't, then you need to be able to define exactly what comes after the last line of the channel. |

Never thought to try and change the width of the wrap-control. Thanks for the quick reply. i disabled that and everything is working much better now.
