I used to MUD quite a bit and used zMUD 5.5 up until last year, I've apparently lost my copy of it. Does anyone have a copy of, or know where I can get a copy of zMUD 5.5?

Well, since legally you had to buy 5.5, you can probably shoot a message to Chiara or Zugg about getting the license for it again. Then you'd want to use 7.21 (as that's the latest version). However, if you had a cracked copy of zMUD, don't expect us to tell you where to get a fresh copy of it.

Nope. My registration is a legitimate one that I purchased in 1998, and if I remember correctly the format on that code doesn't even work on newer versions. I think when I did try a newer version I had to email Zugg and have it converted or something.

Charneus mentions cracked copies just because 5.55 is one of the most commonly-pirated versions of zMUD. Bear in mind, though, that 5.55 is over ten years old now, and the current version of zMUD is significantly different.

If you do want to get the latest version (and I highly recommend that you do), then old orders should've automatically converted to the new system - in the store, use the forgotten password link to retrieve your password with the email you used when you bought zMUD. If you no longer have access to that email address or simply can't remember it, then you'll need to contact support with as much information as you can remember about the order - name, address, email address used, payment method, etc and they should give you back your store account, which will contain your new key.

Unfortunately 5.55 isn't mirrored on this site any more, but if you have a key, why not upgrade anyway? :D

There is no way to get v5.55, nor is there any way to use 5.55 anymore. v5.55 used the old eLicense copy protection system and we can no longer generate license keys for that system. The 7.21 version of zMUD is fully compatible with the old 5.55 version so there really isn't any reason not to upgrade to the 7.21 version, especially since it's a free upgrade.
