[3.03] Connection timer still shows even with option off |
This was probably present in earlier versions, but I've never messed around with the status bar until recently. That connection timer takes up a lot of real estate. For that matter, so does the scroll bar that is not needed, but I suppose there isn't anything that can be done about that... in fact, WHY is that scroll bar there? If I had the ability to turn it off, I would... :P
Anyway, I went to preferences, network, connection, and unticked 'Show connection timer.' The only thing it does is stops the connection timer. It does not remove it from the status bar. :\
Appreciate you looking into it!

That scrollbar was driving me nuts too. It is resizable though, so that made it somewhat better since you can shrink it to almost nothing. I assume it is there for situations where the window is small enough that the output text goes off the edge of the screen and you've disabled word wrap for the output window, but it definitely would be nice to have the option of getting rid of it.

Heh. I completely forgot that the scroll bar could be resized. Thanks for pointing that out to me! :P

Some people need the scrollbar because their MUD doesn't wrap and wrapping in zMUD/CMUD looks ugly. It is better to integrate the scrollbar into the status bar so that there is more vertical screen real-estate for the MUD output (was more important in the past with smaller screen resolutions). As Calesta mentioned, that is why you can resize the scrollbar to get rid of it. That makes it the best solution.
As far as the connection timer, turning off the Show connection timer is supposed to remove it from the status bar. If that isn't happening then it's a bug and I'll add it to the bug list. |
