Upgrade from 2.18

I often get a requester to run an upgrade to the latest version. It downloads and I can run it but it seems I am still running 2.18. I am using Vista and I didn't load CMUD into the program file directory due to problems. Now it is in a directory under documents call games. How can I get this upgrade to run?

Try downloading it manually from the site here. If that doesn't work, I would suggest trying to get CMUD back into the proper directory (though I don't think that's the issue), you might also uninstall it and install the new version of CMUD downloaded. Let us know how it goes.

There was a known bug in some older versions where the upgrade wouldn't run automatically. I can't quite recally when this was fixed.

I would suggest downloading the current version, using the Downloads menu of the Forums, saving it to the desktop. Then run it, the installer will maintain your current settings.

I use XP. All the testing with Vista indicates that it is fine to install CMud to "Program Files\CMud" as long as the user packgae files are someplace else. The installer provides options for this.

I use XP as well, it's installed in the default location with the user package files in the folder I use to store all the other information I keep for my game.

I have it installed on XP and on Vista and I have no issues with either.
