Automapper : bug at loading |
Hi,
I used to play my favorite muds with zMud 6.4, some years ago, and decided to make a come back today and I've just installed and licensed the 7.21 version.
Now, I'm facing problems loading the Mapper. Here's a screen with the french strange error report:
http://www.orichalk.net/remote/MapperLoadBug.pdf
Approx. translation could be: "in the validation expression at table level".
I've done the MDAC and Jet latest updates, but still... the mapper won't show and it's even freezing the whole zMud application after a while.
I'm running WinXP SP 2, with MDAC 2.81 installed (and checked with tool found on the net).
Is there anything else I should update on my system?
Many thanks for help and support. |

Again, it is the same error string that appears. Should I reinstall the Jet OLE thingy? I can only find SP updates on MS website, not the actual software...

I'm pretty sure you have a problem within the database that the mapper sit in.
Try creating a new session, and connect to your mud without importing anything, and if the mapper open to an empty map, it is definately your map file. I believe that the mapper files (*.mdb) are Access databases. The best way of fixing things is to use the 'compact' feature in the mapper or Zmapper to correct everything, but if you cannot load it, that defeats the purpose.
So, try going to:
http://www.zuggsoft.com/page.php?file=data/index.htm
and, under the 'Compacting and repairing databases' Heading, there is a link to repair the databases from Microsoft.
Try running that. It will hopefully fix it. |
