[2.33] map wont follow anymore (SOLVED)

hi

Was just mapping a new area when I found out that the mapper could not follow anymore
it can still #find the room but it cant follow when I walk around.
When I double click on a room it will move me there but map not following.

It use to work very good and I dont know what I did wrong or what happen but when I log in
now there are some strange text that I dont think use to be there.

Code:
What be thy name, adventurer? *****

Existing profile loaded - please enter your password.

€r¬þÿÿ: È,.ÉÌKW((ÊOËÌIUÈÉOLIMQÐU(ÈIM,NUHÍ+I-R¨Ì/-R(H,..Ï/JÑãâåâ      <------- THIS
############# Reconnecting to Game #############

And in the mapper window, when I try to export to text file, it dosent save any thing
the same with save config as master with new name.

I use Vista.
please tell me there is a way to fix this so I dont have to remap it all agian

I recently had a problem like this. What I ended up doing was re-downloading the map (unfortunately for you, that isn't an option). I also ended up "remaking my character" in the sense that I started again with zero scripts/triggers and slowly added them back in. That seemed to work.

You could also set your own trigger to send #OK off the exits line... this will force the mapper to follow in many cases

Go into your Preferences and make sure your Telnet option is enabled in the Session page. It looks like your MUD is sending telnet option negotiation characters or something.

If you still get those unknown characters, then tell us the hostname and port of the MUD so we can try connecting to it.

If the map isn't following, compare the room description with what is stored in the map. On some MUDs, they display weather information or other text that changes, which can mess up the follow mode if you have the option in the map configuration set to match the room description when moving.

Also, if the room name is not being displayed at the beginning of the line on the MUD, go into the map configuration and turn off the "Match room name at start of line" option.

I play on Aardwolf Host: aardmud.org Port: 4010

and my telenet is enabled.

This morning the mapper cant follow or make new rooms and #find dont work anymore
and I havent play since last night.
my computer has been shutdown over night

I made this #trigger {^[Exits:} {#OK} and made a reconfigure but that dident help.

I was trying to save my map via File/save as and got this message
Error in cMUDPro.exe
ExitSet: Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset.

it save aardwolf maps.ldb and aardwolf maps.mdb

but it keeps having the "thinking curser" and when I try to click on another zone
I get the same message.

I made a new zone to play with but dident work and I tryed to delete it and got this message:
Access violation at address 004BACED in module 'cMUDPro.exe
Read of address 0000004D

is there a repair tool for the map databse if it broken ?

Think I stop play now and hope for the best

When I try to make a new map File/New I get this : ExitSet: Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset

I had this same issue on Aard with the characters. Ended up launching the session with shift held down to clear the layout helped. Dunno why... dont ask. Also as far as the mapper... Just make sure all your triggers are still active and reconfigure your map. If that doesnt work, export all to xml, delete your session, reimport to clean session and then reconfig your mapper.

You shouldn't need the #OK trigger. I don't use one.
