Installing Cmud |
I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium and downloaded the trial version of cmud. Installation seemed to go fine, I went with the defaults all the way through.
When I try to open it I get an error "C:\Program Files\CMUD\cMUD.exe is not a valid Win32 application."
I tried running it again as administrator and got a new error message "C:\Program Files\CMUD\cMUD.exe Invalid access to memory location."
I then uninstalled and reinstalled it thinking I may have made a mistake somewhere that I didn't notice, but still get the same results. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. |

This is a new one on me, and Zugg is away until Monday. The only advice I can give really is to make sure that when you uninstall, you uninstall completely, the files in My Documents\My Games that CMUD creates and the CMUD directory, and scour the registry too. You might want to try redownloading too.

Either you got a corrupted download, or your computer has some sort of virus on it that has corrupted the CMUD.EXE file. The CMUD.EXE file is encrypted by the copy protection system that we are using, so if a virus modifies any part of the EXE header, then it won't be able to get loaded into memory. So make sure you have an up-to-date virus checker running on your Vista system (I usually recommend the AVG Free software).
Not sure what else to suggest since I haven't seen any other reports like this, so it really sounds like something specific to your computer. |
