starting up zmud

whenever I click on zmud to open it up and run it, it gives me a error message. It says
Access violation at 0x761a785b program terminated 0x00ee0ffc
and I am running windows vista home on my lap top. I just downloaded the software and paid for it. tonight. Can anyone help me with what is going on and what I need to do to fix it so I can use it. I really wanted this client for playing Realms of Dispair.
