Tabs Question |
I am wondering if there is a way to move my Tabs from the top of the MUD window to the bottom, like it was on zMUD 4.62, I prefer them on the bottom.
Also, when I just bought zMUD, I got CMUD for free with it, is zMUD being phased out? |

Depends what you mean by phased out. The current version of zMUD is stable in WinXP and all previous versions of windows, but no further updates will be released.
Partly because zMUD still had to support all those old versions of windows and partly because the free upgrade policy proved to be unworkable in the long term, CMUD has been released specifically to provide support for WinXP and Vista (along with many other improvements including speed increases).
So depending what you meant, the answer is probably yes. But your zMUD keys will still work forever. |

Ok so since I'm sure sometime down the road XP will be totally replaced by Vista I might as well go with CMUD. They seem to be pretty much the same thing.

I get alot of errors in CMUD though. Sometimes it just crashes for no reasons, or displays two command lines and becomes un responsive.. perhaps I should stick with zmud for now.
How do I make the tabs appear at the bottom? |

Under Window Preferences, there are two checkboxes:
[] Window Tabs in Menu Window
[] Window Tabs in Command Line
The first checkbox item creates the full array of window tabs, but I don't see any way to move that down to the bottom. You can't just drag it down there, as this window is the master container for all the other zmud windows...that, and the tab bar just isn't draggable.
The second checkbox item doesn't appear to do anything, but looks like it would've been what you wanted. |

Thats what I thought too. HOpefully I can find a number from Zuggsoftware and get my money refunded and just go back to using the working Zmud 4.62, I definitely can't use CMUD, it crashes constantly.

That depends on if you're using the command line attached to the parent window or not. This doesn't happen by default and isn't easy to control. Remember my very odd multiple status bar setup?

Taz,
Could you walk me through what you did to get the tabs on the bottom? |

Make sure you have two windows open and that the preference for Window Tabs in Command Line is ticked and then do the following.
Under Layout choose Reset Windows -> All windows and confirm yes. This should flush out the floating parent command line where the tab option comes into play.
Then when you've resized your windows how you want them and moved the floaty command line where you want it make sure you save your layout. |

Wow that does make it look really odd, hopefully it'll just be fixed in an update soon, it cuts off the status bar etc

You can certainly still have the status bars as is seen in the picture I posted and was the original reason for the picture as an answer to forum topic Using two status bars
I think the main thing for using the floating command line successfully is to not have any of your windows docked and also turning off caption on top and attached command line for your output windows helps.
I actually run zMUD with a setup similar to the picture but without the double status bar. |
