multiplayer ? |
I know there was some talk of multi-player. but I had some serious issues with it.
I installed 1.16
created 2 sessions.
opened session one
opened session two
everything worked fine,
made some aliases and triggers.
in the settings, one was named session id 'one' the other 'two', the file names were set accordingly (one.pkg, and one.xly).
when disconnecting and reconnecting, file-names assigned to the sessions kept getting changed. I'd go into session 2, and it would say session one.pkg was the file it was using, I'd change it, and go back in, and it would be changed again.
then the sessions got to where it woldn't open the window with the correct session name. session two kept trying to overwrite session one.
I gave up at this point. --
If you need more specifiv info, please let me know, cause this is something that seriously needs attention. |

This looks like a serious issue and I'll add it to the high-priority list. I have also seen the settings filename getting changed in wierd situations, so something is definitely wrong. Thanks for the report.

ok -- here is a little help on tracking this one down ---
I connect to session "one".
I connect to session "two"
hit sessions
right click on either of the sessions, even session three, and click edit
as soon as something happens in the front connected session(the session on the screen) the focus of the session you were working on changes to the session on screen. Verified in 1.16, and 1.17
Also
this may be listed somewhere else --
in Zmud -- I had a alias for drink fountain - df
so if I walked 2 chars to the fountain, I would type :df -- and both chars got the command to drink (if both had the df alias)
the : don't seem to work that way anymore. |

I'll be working on the session problem today to see if I can figure out the problem.
On the :df issue, if you want to send something to all windows, then you need to use the #all command, or use the syntax *:df or :*:df (depending upon whether or not you want the keyboard focus changed). Just using : by itself could not be supported in CMUD because it's an ambiguous syntax in the parser. It's something I'll look into in the future, but not something I can fix before the public release. |
