Upgrading from 1.01 to 1.03 |
I just updated from 1.01 to 1.03 ... took 2 attempts....
First attempt ...
Everything went well, until I got to the point where I had to choose to install it immediately, or install it later (don't recall the button labels) anyway, I opted to install right away. Immediately after clicking on the apropriate button, I got a box telling me there was an error with cmud.exe (I used the bug report system)
Second attempt ....
It dawned on me that I also had Zmud open, so I closed it thinking maybe it had something to to with shared files or something like that. Once Zmud was closed, I opened Cmud and went through the same process of checking/downloading the update in Cmud, and it installed without a hitch.
Might be good to mention somewhere that, Zmud needs to be closed during update processes. Or another possibility if it isn't too complicated to do, would be to have Cmud check to see if Zmud is open and then close it automatically, at least for now until Cmud is out of Beta. |

Do we need to uninstall the previous version of cMud before installing the new one? Or can we just install the new on over the top of the old one?

I installed the new one on top of the old one. However I went 1.01 --> 1.02 and then 1.02 --> 1.03 when it came out.

Hmm, it shouldn't care if zMUD is open or not, but I'll look into that. CMUD shouldn't be using any zMUD files.
Normally you can just install new versions on top of each other. But given the serious problems with 1.01 and 1.02, I'd probably uninstall, then delete any files left in the CMUD directory, then install a fresh copy. |
