automapper sometimes loses config after following someone... |
I have an intermittent problem with the automapper losing its ability to follow or map. This can occur after teleporting, but I've seen it mostly after following someone else for a period of time.
I've tried turning off the mapper. I've tried switching between modes (following, mapping, off). I've tried closing the mapper and then reopening it, without killing the MUD session. I've tried resetting the current location (using the blue pushpin). I've noticed that the queue in the bottom right-hand corner can get way out of whack, but clearing it out (several times) has no effect. What I've found is that I have to completely close the application and restart, at which point the mapper works again.
I have not yet tried reconfiguring the mapper when this occurs. Generally speaking, I try to avoid configuring the mapper unless I need to.
Is there something else I can try, other than reconfiguring the mapper? Some other form of "map reset" command?
Thanks. |

Time for the mea culpa. Seems Yours Truly turns off his triggers when following another player, to avoid group spamming certain messages. No triggers, no mapping. Brilliant.
Anyway, mapping/following/etc. seems to work like a charm once the triggers are turned back on.
Now all I need is to figure out some way to purge this topic from the forum so that I look like less of an idiot. :P |
