License question

I've bought zmud a few years back and I had version 6.5. I upgraded to 7.05 and my license timer ran out. How can I retrieve my license and be able to run zmud again?

When it's unlicensed and you try to start it, it should come up with a prompt and a button labeled something like "License." I recall that my ID was already there when the 90 days or whatever it's set to had expired....

Austintool,

zMUD is set to expire every 90 days, to help with the problem of people's HD dying and not being able to unlicense zMUD. Asm is correct that when you run it again, you should see your license already there. Just press the "License" button, and you should be set to go.

That is my problem there though. When I purchased zmud it was for 20 dollars and a life time membership. I thought all upgrades were free.

When I click on the license tab my numbers do not appear. I had upgraded from 5.5 to 6 and not had this problem. Do I have to pay again or is there a way for me to get my license number back?

Best thing to do is to contact Zuggsoft by email, as this has become a business issue instead of a technical issue. Look on the menu of this site for "Contact Us", then select "Zugg Software Support". They are very good at answering their email, and will let people know when they will be out of the office ahead of time.

If it were me, I would turn the firewall off for the two seconds it would take to get licensed again, just to see if that is indeed the problem. I'm not advocating this for others though.

You should have a saved email with your license number in it; just reenter it (And you'll find it's quite free). If you do not have the number on record, you can try contacting them, but...
...Well, as I understand it, they don't resend the license number, even to the original email address....some problems with abuse or something.

Generally true, but if you're nice about it and are not on file as a trouble-maker Chiara is liable to make an exception. She probably will only do that once, and she's definitely going to send a note proclaiming the virtues of saving all your important documents, data, numbers, etc in places other than on your computer. That's why I'm keeping a handy journal of such things, if I'm ever in the position where I need that stuff I won't have to just bite the bullet and pay again or search frantically for the piece of scrap paper I dutifully wrote it on when it was at hand 5 years ago.
