Need Help with playing media and stopping triggers |
Hi! :D
I've made myself a trigger system that creates my own spell lines, and I synch audio to it with .wav files. So you don't just see your spell lines, you hear them to! It makes being a mage type very exciting! It's a simple alias that turns on triggers which play .wavs and #SHOW text in color combined with the #WAIT command so the text appears as it's being heard. I'm putting this all together in hopes of posting a simple zipped package for download and install for other players who play the same MUD, TorilMUD (thanks for the very easy 'export text' option with trigs and such Zugg! Super Big Help!). But I'm having a problem with part of what I'm trying to do. When my character aborts her spell, I can't find a way to stop the current triggers going off to stop. :(
I've tried turning the trigger off, using the abort command, and using the media stop/close commands, but the .wav just won't stop. I can get it to stop if I play an avi, but then the avi always pops up as it's own window, and you have to re-click the input bar area (sorry don't know official term here) where you type to keep on typing (most annoying).
1) Is there a way to stop a .wav file from playing while it's playing, or do I have to turn it into an audio file and put it on a CD (or does playing tracks from a CD give you a pop-up window like playing an .avi does?)
2) Is there a way to stop a trigger while it's in the process of going off? (because of multiple #WAIT commands within the trigger)
3) Is there a way to play an .avi without it becoming the selected/active window? |

#play off, will stop zmud playing the current sound file. You shouldn't use #wait in triggers, but you can't stop a trigger once it has been triggered.
And for #3, I don't have a clue. |

Ok great thanks Serentus! Using #alarm now, and I like it more already! :D
And thanks Danlo, you don't know how great it is being able to kill the audio instantly! THANX! :D |
