Multiple spaces

I seem to have troubles producing multiple spaces. This isn't a terribly big deal but on simple things where I'm trying to center a "scroll" on a mud and such it gets annoying.
Example:
#say he llo
will produce
he llo
with only one space
how can you get it to produce every space you want?

Try putting quotes around it.
