Complete Newbie mapping question re Realms of Desp

As the subject suggests, I'm totally new to mudding, and zmud (though I think I'll be one of Zugg's newest customers soon Wink )

I'm trying Realms of Despair as my first mud, and having some trouble with the automapper. I used the auto config, and it picked up the room name and exits ok, but loses the room description. Is anyone willing to do a little hand holding and step me through getting this to work, possibly manually?

I've had a look at the hepl files on manual configuration, ahd had a go, but just succeeded in breaking the current config so it didn't work at all...

as far as i can see, the mapper doesnt work too well on RoD. ive been playing for a few years already. for one. the compass will mess it up if you use it. it also messes up the description and the title. ive had alot of problems even trying to manually config it. heres to hoping someone can help ;)

Thanks for the reply, xenapan. It's nice to know I'm not the only one having problems with RoD. I'm registering ZMud today regardless. I've tried a few of the free clients, and they just don't hold a candle to Zmud for it features (and the mapper! <g>). It's a bit intimidating though; I wish there were some more tutorials or examples for the more complex stuff...

Anyway, hopefully, someone else might have some hints for RoD. I was hoping, seeing it seems such a huge and popular mud, that any issue would have been ironed out ages ago... <sigh>
