Ansi Color problems

I noticed something strange. While playing with the ansi color values I noticed that white and yellow are always shown in highlight and that high and bold attributes do not change their values. It works fine for all other colors except these two. So in order to get the normal value for yellow you would have to use brown and gray for the normal color of white. Anyone know what would be causing this? I changed the colors to default, Tried playing with numbers as the values and it always returns with the same outcome.

Yellow and white are special names for high, brown and high, gray respectively.
