#FIND problem with mapper

When I try to locate my current position in the map with the #FIND command or with the button on the toolbar, it sends the look command to the MUD but fails to update my position accordingly. I also find it odd that it changes my automapper to Mapping Mode.

I have no idea what could cause such behavior and can find nothing strange in my settings. Anyone have this problem or know how I might fix it?

When I use #FIND the mapper switches from follow to map until it sees the room info, then it switches back to follow.

My map was working great and I've mapped just over 8000 rooms. It suddenly stopped working and I can't figure out why. I've tried with and without certain mapping triggers. I've tried a new configuration. I've tried different computers and character profiles. Nothing seems to be able to fix it.

The map doesn't locate my position properly and it also doesn't follow when I move about 98% of the time. This really sucks because I was loving the speedwalking to everywhere and now all those hours spent mapping might be lost. [xx(]

If anyone has any suggestions on how to get this map working again, I'll greatly appreciate them! Thanks.

I'm using version 7.04. The map seems to work okay in Follow mode. It will track my movements and I can speedwalk. If I switch to Mapping mode, it no longer tracks my movements or speedwalks. I can't use the #FIND command to locate my place in the map because of the Mapping mode not working. Any ideas?

In Map mode the mapper is expecting to create new rooms. If you want the mapper to follow you, it should be in Follow mode. Moving around in Map mode brings about many complications.

My Map mode seems to be completely broken, however. Here are the symptoms:

1. In Follow mode, I use #FIND but it does not update my location on the map and switches the map to Map mode and not back again to Follow mode. The 'look' command is sent to the MUD, but not processed properly.

2. I cannot create new rooms in Map mode by walking around the map. I can create and edit them manually, but who wants a manual automapper? :)

3. The Map mode does not follow my movements, which it did before just fine. It would occassionally create rooms when I received 'spam' between the move command and the room, but I could live with that.

I'll be happy to send my map and/or configuration files to anyone willing to take a look at them. You would probably need a character on Achaea for complete testing, though. [8D]

It does seem like it is a problem with the configuration (though I know you've already tried messing with that). Especially since I'm told Achaea is extra difficult to map. Since I don't play there, I don't think I would be much more help to you, sorry.
