logging in question GS3/4

I am trying to log into the GS4 preview, apparantly it is possible according to a GM, you do what you did before GS3 and zmudd teamed up to make it easy to log on , the only trouble is that was before i used zmudd. i have tried to follow the directions i have been given but i dont seem to be able to log in.

from a GM directions >>Open up the .SAL file in Notepad or something like that and connect to the host & port listed in the file. Once you're connected, paste in your key from the file and then send another character down (anything will work) and you'll connect.<<

the .sal file is the file you get when youright click the <click here> link which i save to desktop and then use notepad to open

Preparing to launch GemStone Beta Preview Premium for the Wizard FE. If your game does not start automatically, click here

right clicking gets me the info

UPPORT=5535
GAME=WIZ
GAMECODE=GS
FULLGAMENAME=Wizard_Front_End
GAMEFILE=WIZARD.EXE
GAMEHOST=gs3dev.simutronics.net
GAMEPORT=10521
KEY=<string of numbers>

using make new connection, I set host to gs3dev.simutronics.net and port to 10521 , i then add password and account name to character part of setup
i then log onto gs3 homepage and log in my account get fresh key number string

then when i start i get..

Connected to host gs3dev.simutronics.net
<key set of numbers after "key =" from sal file>
Invalid login key. Please relogin to the web site.Connected to host gs3dev.simutronics.net
<key set of numbers after "key =" from sal file>
Invalid login key. Please relogin to the web site.

if i dont set up account and password then it asks me if i want to create an auto trigger.

any help appreciated if you can see what i am doing wrong

Odd. You appear to be doing it correctly.

I'd double check with the staff that nothing is preventing you from doing it this way. Also of note is the fact that the key is time sensitive. If you wait too long, the key invalidates. It's usually several minutes though, so that shouldn't be the issue.

I hate to bump this back up , but after the host change and every thing looking fine , i again am unable to log on .

log into home page , goto go play , get sal file info

sal file info

UPPORT=5535
GAME=WIZ
GAMECODE=GS
FULLGAMENAME=Wizard_Front_End
GAMEFILE=WIZARD.EXE
GAMEHOST=prime.gs4.game.play.net
GAMEPORT=10521
KEY=123abc

set up connection
-set host to prime.gs4.game.play.net
-set port to 10521
-enter account name and password

trying to log on

Connected to host prime.gs4.game.play.net
123abc
123abc
Please wait for connection to game server.

at which point it drops with you quit, mud crashed , network went down or call waiting disconnect message appears

i have been assured by a GM that it is posible to log on , on FEs other than the simu wizard FE, he has logged on with Telnet.

that is the extent of the help though, they say its Zmudd we wont/carnt help you.

does anyone have any ideas?

cheers Naz

Are you entering the key twice? It should be sent just once, and then send a blank return.

black line, random key and double entering the key all result in same thing
