Windows were messed up

ok, i was waiting around for something in a game and was just moving the mouse pointer around. i dragged on one part and my map/triggers icons (and all the others but don't remember what ones they were) disappeared. so i tried getting them back and did a few things, now all i can see in the mud i'm playing is the text box, everything else is grey except for the header which is just blue with the my character's name in it. i've reinstalled twice and did everything i could think of but i still can't fix the windows and icons. anybody know how i to fix this? i can no longer right click and see windows options btw, only lets me right click in the text box now.
edit: ok, i got the screen fixed (note to self: quick tiling is evil), still can't see the icons though. and the character tabs are missing. |

Check your Preferences (View menu), particularly the General/User Interface and Windows sections.
