The most common causes of this are: zMud was not installed and run once by a user with administator priveledges; or the LicCtrl service has been disabled.

LicCtrl is the service eLicense uses to manage your licenses and decrypt zMUD's executable.

You can find out if it is enabled by right-clicking on My Computer, selecting Manage, expanding Services and Applications, selected Services and lookin for it in the list to the right.

Also, if you're running one of the OS's that Troubadour specified in the sticky thread titled "Windows 98, ME, and 2000 Users Please Read", that'll prevent zMud from running.

Make sure you are logged in with administrator privileges.

You might want to try looking in the eLicense FAQ at the part where it talks about unistalling eLicense. Do this after unistalling zMUD and then reinstall zMUD so that eLicense is installed again.

If that doesn't work, try e-mailing support@elicense.com for further assitance.
