zMUD as Telnet to Linux Box

I have ANSI and VT102 emulation on, and the terminal type set to "vt102". I'm telnetting to a local Linux box running bash. I have Telnet Options and Send NAWS on.

Problem 1: How can I get it to send keystrokes literally, like ^U and PGUP, instead of processing them locally? (Edit: I figured how to get it to send ^U (control codes), but I still don't know how to get it to send PGUP.)

Problem 2: It is screwing up self-redrawing lines. For example, using wget, instead of having a changing status bar at the bottom, it spams my screen by performing each change as a new line, so I have a bar inching its way across the screen, line-by-line. I tried having GA/EOR both on and off, to no effect. (Edit: It's screwing up even worse than that, like when I tried to play Angband. The character-creation screens printed their info all over the place, and stuck all kinds of crap around it from the screen before the program was invoked. And when I got to the town screen, it actually drew it right and cleared the rest of the screen, but when I moved it deleted characters from the line instead of updating it properly. And to top it off, it's not even sending color codes. Does zMUD actually work as a telnet client for more than the simplest, stream-like tasks?)

There's been alot of interest in this in the beta forum, i suggest trying your post there, and reading some of the other posts. There might be some way to simulate the output of PGUP and PGDOWN (the codes according to www.asciitable.com are (0x00, 0x49) and (0x00, 0x51) respectively) but that is beyond my ken.

Oh, yes, I see it is being worked on. However, I've had my toes wiggled by betas too much, recently, and I'm burned out on it, so can anyone please suggest a decent, free Telnet client for Windoze 98 SE, until a new release version of zMUD comes out?

PuTTY is the man as far as freeware telnet/ssh clients go. It'd suck to mud from but it totally rocks for adminning a linux box via telnet/ssh.
