Links to other zones displaying zone name

I saw a post on this back in July saying it was going to be added to the to-do list, and just wanted to check on the status.
Is there a way to disable zone names from showing on your map when you have a link from one room in your current map to a room in another zone? It gets a bit hairy when you have several adjacent rooms that all link to other zones.

If you edit the properties of that link and disable the Draw link option, the stub link is still displayed (without the black box) but it no longer has the area name on it. You can then add a label to the map with the area name and place it accross the links you disabled.
