Concerning Zmud 6.62 - I like it!!!! its sooooo much better than any previous version .. I have used zmud since version 3.62ish...and given how well I type .. I need it!!!
With regards to a reason that people have not upgraded from 4.x or 5.x or 6.x to 6.62 is the Mapper... and before I get toasted .. let me explain...
I have spoken with 3 people who upgraded to 6.62 and found that their maps didnt function/work properly. They then returned to their previous version i.e. 6.16.. 6.40 etc I havent used the Mapper yet just because .. well .. too lazy to take the time to learn it *grin* yeah I know I know...
I will be looking at the Mapper tutorial once I get time ..
current project is to move some alias/variable processing to a ZMUD DB function..which is another tutorial I need to look at *grin*
Thanks much for all your work over the years Zugg.. as a Typo Master .. I really appreciate triggers and aliases and variables and all the other finger saveing, typos avoiding functionality in zmud *grin* |

First off, I would like to state how happy I am with ZMud. I used to use MM2K and was severely disappointed in their support for their only product. Unfortunately, I think there are maybe 2-3 things wrong with ZMud that make the typical Mudder sway away from it: One - It cost Money (let's be realistic, it's $25 for a lifetime of support and upgrades, man that's like the best deal ever, also some of the users of the Mud that I play are like 13-15 years old, so typically they aren't going to have the money to buy.) Two - ZMud is very powerful, Now this probably sounds a little retarded, but speaking as a novice to script writing, it's kind of intimidating to try and figure out how to do things like make triggers and such. When I was first looking into scripts I looked through the tutorials and everything went...pfffft right over my head. Now, I'm kind of getting the hang of it and over time I'm hoping to be pretty proficient in being able to write any kind of script.
My only request would be to have the ability to download the complete users manual/tutorial for the current version (http://www.zuggsoft.com/zmud/help6/helpset.htm),so that I could print it, for me to learn something it is a lot easier to see it in black and white then it is to flip back and forth from screen to screen.
Anyways, thanks for making an excellent client. |
