The menu bar that alt key selects in every other windows program.
Are you using 1.24 also?
Also, in most programs, when you press Esc while one of the drop down menus is open, it closes the menu ... |

There is also a Reset Windows command that you can add to your toolbar using the Customization options. But since this causes all windows to get undocked, it's not pretty.

repro procedure:
either type #key F10 {sleep}
or make a macro for F10 in the settings with sleep
Press F10
result:
sleep is sent
menu is activated
expected:
menu does not get activated. |
